Grew up in Middle Tennessee. Grad school in Austin, Texas. Ph. D. is in rhetoric from the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Texas. I taught at Denison University in Ohio for three years prior to arriving at Marymount Manhattan College. I am interested in communication technologies from ancient times into the future. I think the alphabet is a cool technology--glad it's "open source." I'm happy to be in NYC and to use the city as a classroom.
