Visit This American Life on the web, pick another show that sound's intriguing, and write about one act. This is an open-ended assignment; blog a couple of paragraphs on any aspect of your chosen act. If you cannot find a computer from which to stream a show, blog about the one we listened to in class today.
COMM 101 Assignment for Wednesday:
Invent arguments for your group's deliberative (policy) speech. Post them to your group blog (you and your group members may decided how to divvy up the work here). Refer to the "invention" session I conducted in class before spring break (with the "gun control" group). Just get the ideas down in no particular order--in class on Wednesday I will discuss "arrangement."
Grew up in Middle Tennessee. Grad school in Austin, Texas. Ph. D. is in rhetoric from the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Texas. I taught at Denison University in Ohio for three years prior to arriving at Marymount Manhattan College. I am interested in communication technologies from ancient times into the future. I think the alphabet is a cool technology--glad it's "open source." I'm happy to be in NYC and to use the city as a classroom.
