I too have a fondness both for the Beats and for the Dead, without whom my own college days would not have been as dear.

One of my favorite authors is Ken Kesey, author of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest." He died a couple years ago, but the legend of him and the Merry Pranksters lives on. This is my favorite story about him, and it combines him and the best band on earth, the Grateful Dead.... enjoy.
