If anyone is using Newz Crawler let us know how you did it. Post a brief explanation on your blog and then email me.

Check out Sleazy fo' Sheezy to see how to make a link in your template that, when someone clicks on it, opens up an IM chat with you. Very cool. I'm going to make mine now.
Also, here's the code to make a link that opens up a new message window in the viewer's email app and fills in your email address (this doesn't work if the person is using webmail only):

<A HREF="mailto:emailinfo@host">Name</a

Okay give me some advice. There's a woman that I might go out with. We met online. She's got a little baggage, but well, so do I. She published a book which is cool. I may have blown it already because I've let two weeks pass since I answered her last email. Anyway, her website is here.

Just got back from a coffee with John Arthos (Comm prof). Great conversation. John reminds me how important ideas are. Nice job perk, getting to hang out with imaginative people. Believe me, I sure as hell didn't choose this career for the $. Most of you will be getting paid more in your 20's than I am right now at 36 (this is not to slight Denison, they pay well comparatively). So anyhow, if I run into any of you in the future you buy the drinks.

A note about Pro Tools and/or other digital audio apps: Not everyone needs to have these. Just make sure someone in your group does. But the more of you that have them the more flexible you can be in how your group works.

Blogger FAQ
Q: How do I publish my blog after making changes?
A: Click on the "Posting" tab. Then click on the "Publish Status" tab. Then click on the "Republish Your Blog" button.

I want ya'll to start reading each other's blogs. So find a post or two on a classmate's blog that you think is funny or noteworthy and blog about it yourself. Don't forget to link to them.

I have a new motto for my courses, thanks to stranded in ohio:
"The web is our textbook and Blogger is our notebook."

You've got to check out the "Average Denison Male" links over at Newark Local's Blogger Board. Hope you can laugh at yourself....
Also, check out zepped for one reason: the colors are so groovy I want to lick this blog.
And this line from mons binohead made me snort:
"His childhood through high school was like most other kids with the exception of a state spelling bee championship and the occasional arrest."

Some of my favorite blog titles are:

(Clever Title) [Cynicism works.]
fire down south [Provincial and sexual at the same time.]
the universe of wigglebeewoo [I want to go there.]
My Blog Bog Comm Log [This sound dirty if you say it a few times.]
a dialogue between a bat and a bj [These are nicknames, but if you try to picture it it makes your brain hurt.]
Strength and Honor [Blog OOORAH!]
squiggly pimp [As fun to say as it is to picture.]
The Blog of Derek [Honest and simple, sort of like "The Tao of Steve."]
Musiciananigans [I include this because it's an exquisite torture to pronounce.]
fun fun fun [Someone's meds are working.]
TOUCH ME IN THE PRIVATE SPOT [I get the willies every time this title pops up.]
the legend of fast eddie [A blog with some 'tude.]
Sleazy fo' Sheezy [Blog Bloggy Blog]
DeLaWho? DeLaWhat? DeLaWhere? [A reference to his hometown. I like self-deprecation almost as much as bad puns.]
Caramel [Simple and sexy.]
mons binohead [I don't get it either but it appears to be a vaguely threatening homage to another student. Sick.]
absolut krazee [absolutely cool (check out the graphic).]
DenisonBaseball11 [Nothing fancy here, just the blog of an American dude.]
the amazing blog of Kim Kiernan [Could I borrow some of your self-esteem?]
pieces of reese [Sweeter than "Pieces of April".]
Look at the Blogs on Her [Blog chauvinism without apology--gotta love it.]
blog me! [How would you like it?]
morgan's first try at a "blog" [You can do it girl, take that first step!]

Instructions are available for downloading Pro Tools over at DenisonBaseball11.

One student has apparently had good luck with News Gator. It runs inside of Microsoft Outlook, so it would probably be great for Outlook users.
Also: Obviously your, and everyone else's, ATOM feed will have a different address than the RSS one. All ATOM addresses look like mine, which is:
http://polueides.blogspot.com/atom.xml

I'm sorry about the mixup on my part over RSS. Fortunately, ATOM is just as easy to configure and use, and is compatible with all of the News Browsers I listed earlier (except for Net News Wire). For those of you who use Macs and/or those of you who use Windows but are having trouble with the other News Browsers, I have a solution. It's not a perfect solution (it strips out links and you can't click on it to get directly to a blog), but it will suffice. It's an Internet Application appliance called "Central" by Macromedia. You can download it for free here. Yes Mac users, apparently my favorite News Browser, Net News Wire, does not currently support ATOM, so I'm going to use Central myself. Those of you who do not have your own computer might also try using Central if you at least have access to a single computer you can use throughout the semester.
